You will be picked up from your hotel or Nile cruise in Luxor, with the pick-up time depending on your location and preference within the provided time window (07:30 to 09:00 AM).You’ll be transferred to your private vehicle, which is air-conditioned for a comfortable ride.
Valley of the Kings:The first stop will be the Valley of the Kings, one of Egypt’s most famous archaeological sites. This ancient burial ground houses the tombs of pharaohs, including that of Tutankhamun.Your guide will explain the history of the pharaohs and their burial practices, along with details about the stunning tomb paintings and inscriptions.
Hatshepsut Temple:Next, you’ll visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el-Bahari), one of Egypt’s architectural masterpieces. The temple is set against the backdrop of cliffs and is dedicated to Hatshepsut, one of the few female pharaohs in Egypt’s history.The guide will share insights into her reign and the significance of the temple.
Colossi of Memnon: You will also pass by the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues of the pharaoh Amenhotep III, which are famous for their size and historical significance. The statues are all that remain of the pharaoh’s mortuary temple.
After exploring the West Bank, you will head to the Karnak Temple Complex on the East Bank, one of the largest temple complexes in Egypt. The Karnak Temple is dedicated primarily to the god Amun-Ra and includes various temples, chapels, pylons, and obelisks.Highlights include the Great Hypostyle Hall with its 134 massive columns and the Sacred Lake.
Luxor Temple:
Your final stop is Luxor Temple, located near the Nile River. This temple is dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu and was an important site for religious ceremonies, especially the Opet Festival.Luxor Temple is famous for its grand entrance, with towering obelisks and statues, and for being located at the heart of modern Luxor.
Lunch After exploring the temples, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant (usually included in the tour package). The meal may consist of traditional Egyptian dishes, such as Koshari, grilled meats, falafel, or hummus, with options available for vegetarians and those with dietary restrictions.
